The iconic Great Ocean Road Brewhouse is a cornerstone of Apollo Bay’s coastal town. It has welcomed tourists and locals since 1887. This magnificent grand old lady, the former Ballarat Hotel, is a must-see on the Great Ocean Road, and home to Prickly Moses Handcrafted Beer.

You’ll love the vibrant atmosphere, spacious beer gardens, and roaring fires at the Brewhouse. After soaking up the relaxed environment that surrounds Apollo Bay, you can pass by the Brewhouse to make your day complete. 

At the Brewhouse, you can enjoy various tasting experiences. Indulge in our delicious pub favourites and modern dishes while enjoying beer and gin tastings by the cosy fire or in our vibrant beer garden overlooking the picturesque Apollo Bay foreshore. 

Try our Prickly Moses XPA, Pale Ale, Light, and more. As well as a variety of seasonal beers.

The hotel is also a great spot to enjoy live entertainment. There are acoustic shows on select weekends, and other special events, trivia nights, and a happy hour to keep you amused.

We offer accommodation as well and have some spaces available to host special events, from cocktail parties to sit-down dinners, corporate seminars, weddings, or special celebrations.

There’s a Bottlemart Express bottle shop located in the Brewhouse where you can buy a selection of local, national, and international craft beers, ciders, wines, gins, whiskies and more.
